Cabiri built Debenhams in eight weeks
We’ve gone and done it… in eight weeks
At the beginning of February 2021, the team at Boohoo Group PLC set Cabiri an interesting challenge – could we launch the new Debenhams website in eight weeks? Luckily they had the vision to choose an API first cloudnative solution and to put in a call to us at Cabiri. We were privileged to work with this amazing fast moving, cutting edge team, accept this opportunity and meet the challenge.
Whilst we knew this would be a tough ask, we were confident that a headless serverless approach would be the best way of achieving this goal. We had of course, the enormous advantage of Ashiba, our very own in house developed commercetools accelerator. Ashiba jump-starts the integration process, enabling integrations with Amplience, Algolia and many other technologies. Competitors said eight weeks couldn’t be done, some even used the word impossible! But with Ashiba on our side and a team of the worlds top developers and experts in their fields – most integration accelerations are possible. We continually ask “what can we not do?” – and then set about to address it.
We are incredibly proud of our talented team and what they have achieved in such a short time. It is their level of expertise and their commitment to doing things the right way, that meant Cabiri could hit that target. We thank them tremendously for the effort they have put in and the work that they have done.
